Crash Mansion hosted a fantastic night of live country music last night in the Lower East Side. The crowd was a motley crew of all ages and races. This was definitely a destination spot — the people had come for their country music and the Cooper Boone machine was ready to greet them. The festivities started at 8pm with free Jim Beam for an hour.

Bleu Edmondson took the stage at 8:40 with his acoustic guitar. Unforch, I didn’t get any live pics of Edmondson but above is the cover of Edmondson’s new album Lost Boy. Despite the fact that he is dressed like Danny from Real World Austin, Edmondson really entertains with his pop-culture and country infused songs. “Heaven in the sack and hell on 18 wheels” and “sinners, saints and suicide girls” were lyrics that stood out. I like anyone who order Yeager-bombs from the stage. Edmondson will be at The Bitter End tonight at 9pm in Manhattan.

Cooper Boone and the Farm Junkies took the stage around 9:30 and played for a solid hour. The band include two back up singers, three guitarists (sometimes two guitarists, one violinist), keyboard, and drums. By the time the former New York City counselor took the stage Crash Mansion was standing room only. I knew this was going to be a high-energy show when I saw the Sugar Saloon Line Dancers practicing in the bathroom. The big show stoppers of the evening were “Fast Food Two-Step,” “Sugar Saloon,” and, of course, “Big Girls.” Former Spin Doctors lead guitarist Anthony Krizan took the stage to play guitar for the song “Cross Creek” which he co-wrote with Boone.
